I read in the MediaPortal info somewhere that MediaPortal can play any video that can be played in windows normally. I normally use VLC to watch everything, if I do this will all the codecs just work or will i need to install them individually?

I'm away from my media centre for a few days so just trying to get things planned so I can get stick in asap.

Thanks
M

Everything has to play in WMP10 or better. If you can get them all to play in Windows Media Player, then MP will play them. You might need ffdshow and Haali Spliter also to get everything functional.

Indeed, start with fddshow and then fill the gaps. Should be in the intstall how-to on the frontpage too. Ijust did a fresh install and brainnumbly followed the how-to worked out fine. (You may all congratulate me, but even more the dev-team on my first flawless alcohol-intoxinated install, that's closing in on full monkey-proofness. :D)
