Hi everyone!
I found a good deal for a new-in-box (NOS) Hauppage Wintv HVR-5525 TV Tuner card and I'm considering buying it even though it's from 2014...

The thing is I need a card that has:
-mpeg hardware encoder (does HVR-5525 have mpeg hardware encoder??)
-mediaportal 1&2 full compatibility
-FM Radio and analog video capture/playback capabilities
-DVB-T TV
-windows 10 compatibility
-pci-e interface (internal card)

So to sum up my questions:
-Is this card mediaportal fully compatible?
-Does this card have hardware mpeg encoder?
-Is there a newer TV Tuner card that fulfills my criteria?
-Also this card seems to have two JST connectors on its top side when mounted. Anyone knows what these are for?

Thanks for lending your experience

    • i think yes
    • don't know, look into spec
    • maybe look to TBS card
    • don't know, but maybe related to audio output/input.

    Thank you for your answers!
After a bit of searching, it seems that the only tv tuner that has everything I need (including mpeg-2 harware encoder) is the hauppauge wintv-hvr-2205.
Unfortunately noone sells it right now :(
any other good tv-tuner brands besides avermedia and hauppauge?

PS: TBS doesn't offer vcr analog video input in any of their products

Well, it's a bit old, but I have a Digital Devices DuoFlex CT Dual DVB-C/DVB-T PCIe lying around gathering dust...
It served me well for all the years I have used it, but since my provider stopped with dvbc signals I don't have any need for it
    Don't know if it's win10 compatible though...
    Interested?

Thank you for your offer, but this card doesn't have (from what I can see) any fm radio or analogue tv or s-video connection for old vcrs (these features are the reason I want a mpeg-2 hardware encoder)
I decided to buy an AverMedia AverTV Ultra pci-e rds (h777) TV tuner from a friend that confirmed that this card works in windows 10.
Unfortunately the person I bought it from doesn't have the original disc that came with the original package anymore... :(

Anyone has an .iso of this card's original drivers disc or any drivers/software that work with this card under windows 10?

I found this page from the original website:
and the driver dates don't match with those of drvhub.net... :(
latest driver and AP date seems to be 2010/12/30 from the original website, but it doesn't say if it supports win 10

Complicated as always with these old cards... I hope another user with the same card that has done the research will see this thread and help out with drivers and software in windows 10. Although I will mostly use MP for tv watching and recording
Any chance MP will support RDS from FM radio stations in a newer version? Or maybe a plugin for rds?
