hi all

i'm tossing up as to weather I should switch to MediaPortal from Windows 7 media Center

Can anyone answer this.

1) Can I still use my windows media center remote ?
2) Can I import XML data for the EPG (i live in Sydney, Australia)
3) Are set top boxes supported (specifically i need to be sure the foxtel set top box is supported)
4) Speed compared to W7MC ?
5) Is there a plugin that removed advertisements from recorded TV ?

thanks

If you can feed a STB Signal out and into a PC Card, then yes.

    awesomeness !

    6) when scheduling recording, media center allow me to retain 10 of the latest recordings regardless of if viewed or now (this is really handy if you have a 4yr old who wants his TV but isn't fussed is he's missed anything in the interim)

    is this also available ?

You can set them to be only removed in case of hd space issues. Or until a dedicated date, or until watched or until forever:
