I use to convert all audio streams coming out from my HTPC to AC3, using ffdshow and AC3Filter.
It works great for MP3 files. But it don't for Shoutcast streams.
If I listen to a MP3 file in MP, I see ffdshow and AC3Filter are involved.
If I listen to a Shoutcast stream, only AC3Filter is used.
My soundcard need the samplerate to be at 48000Hz. That's why I use ffdshow to resample before using AC3Filter.
In case of Shoutcast streams, ffdshow is not involved so no resampling. And then AC3Filter don't encode.
Is WMP used for Shoutcast ? Is there a way to insert ffdshow in the decoding graph ?
