Hi All,

Just wonder if I can easily make the PC to shutdown itself after a scheduled TV recording in MP is finished. I don't want to use the Windows scheduled services, as I only have a remote control attached to the PC, and it is outside MP.

Thanks for the help.

It comes with MP so you will find it in the plugin section of the Configuration.exe program.

It is called PowerScheduler and it usually appears somewhere towards the bottom of the list.

...just to prevent you running in the same trap like I did:

If you're running TVE3 you need to activate the Powerscheduler Client(!) Plugin (there are to Powerscheduler plugins in the MP-Client). In addition you need to configure the MP-Server side Powerscheduler Plugin.
Both need to have the same settings.

    cheers

Yeah! To save you some time. Enable Power Scheduler and set it to turn off after say 10min of inactivity. Inactivity in this case is MP waiting in the home screen (nowhere else). So if you want to try it with a recording, select something to record and then go back to the homescreen. Go do something else. 10 min after the recording is done your HTPC shuts down.
Another thing. If you plan to let Power Schduler boot your HTPC, the best way is to let it shut the HTPC down before (this is beacause the Power Scheduler needs time to check when to start again I'm told). I.e. Select what is to be recorded and leave MP in the home screen. When it's ready MP shuts down, and then starts up to record and then shuts down again.

    Good luck!

Yes, that's correct. Enable the Power Scheduler plugin and set it to hibernate. Don't manually power down your computer, instead go to the Home screen, stop TV (if time-shift was enabled TV will still be running) and let it there; it will shut down automatically and awake for the next recording.
