Hi!
I start this thread because I did not find any thread covering this specific issue. I hope to help others with my findings.
I had a strange problem with my setup (GA-MA78GPM-DS2H motherboard with 780G/hd3200 chipset, 128 MB sideport vRAM + 512 MB shared RAM, Vista, EVR, PDVD 7.3, Phenom, Catalyst 8.9):
super picture quality of 1080i HDTV but random short jitter/stutter with some dropped frames every 10-30 seconds.
I tried everything... (renderer, CCC settings, antivirus off, cool&quiet off etc.) nothing helped. Then I deactivated the sideport vRAM in BIOS (left 512 MB shared UMA) and voilá! Jitter/stutter is gone for good!!!!
I guess there is a problem of handling both sideport vRAM and shared RAM at the same time. I hope that a BIOS update will help (there is only one, the first F1 available still for my GA-MA78GPM-DS2H)
