Signal strength:100 signal quality: 0 (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

I'm having issues with my new Hauppauge WinTV Nova-TD USB Stick, I have it set up in dual tuner mode, I was able to tune using both tuners in the setup (signal quality showed low), now in mediaportal no TV is displayed I am getting a blank screen.

Looking through the logs it says: DVBGraph:TuneChannel done signal strength:100 signal quality:0 locked:False

Is there any obvious reason why I would have such good signal strength yet no signal quality?

if the signal strength is not reported by the devices driver MediaPortal defualts to 100.
Quality 0 & Locked:False is the key give away here.

If you change the diversity mode to single tuner using the hauppauge tool, you may find it will work, but only as a single setup.

Usually does mean a crap aerial\cable.

Do you have an antenna signal amplifier between your antenna and the USB receiver?
it's posible that the signal is in over-drive andtherefore creates a strong but faulty signal.

Thanks for all your help, It turned out to be an aerial not up to the job combined with a bad connection on the RF leads.
