I have a Seasonic X-560, and it is completely silent, no whine

Like I wrote, there is a lot of different theories about whether there really is any whine or not and whether it' only certain MoBos that trigger it or not... At the end of the day I'm happy with the PSU as the whine is not really noticable with case closed. It's really more a "principal" complaint about the PSU that is marketed as "noiseless"...

My i3-2100 is just using the stock fan+heat sink, which seems very quiet at 900rpm and cools the cpu sufficently at that rpm
My CPU sits around 38-40 with general use. Is that 55 under stress testing with full load?

55 is general use but I have turned off case fans completely. Only air flow in the case is from the CPU fan and the case is placed in the shelf with only 2-3cm to the shelf sides and the shelf top (with no openeing on the back side) so I don't think it's realistic to expect anything cooler...

You could look at getting a "gefen detective" or "dvi doctor" adaptor cable.

Will definitely check these out, haven't heard of such a solution before.

    Thanks for the feedback!
