It would be useful if MP supported a simple set of operations via TCP/IP, like -

<Request Text="Radio, BBC World"/>
<Request Text="Key, Up"/>
There are some attempts (self included) that try this - but I've never managed to get a 100% certain working method.
Basically this would mean that MP could be driven by an external program (thinking of HomeSeer for myself here but also mean that a smartphone app could be used as a remote.)
I know there is a TCP/IP app for keypresses (I've already mangled this to do the above).
