Skin engine rewrite? (1 Viewer)

I've only had limited experience of Mediaportal and I'm mainly a user of XBMC at the moment (but would like to transfer over - for many additional benefits).

However many people talk about the slowness of the skinengine in Mediaportal (when compared with XMBC) is this something that has been rewritten recently to speed it up (or is it due for a rewrite)?

there will be no big changes to Mediaportal 1 because Mediaportal 2 is already in development. And Mediaportal 2 is a complete rewrite...

yes, it has speed up a lot since some SVNs!

Thats a good point actually, 1.1.0 should be a lot better in this regard.

Thanks for the responses. I may hold off until version 2 arrives as that looks to be a better entry point for a new user (and XBMC can tie me over until then)

Why not jhust give it a go?

It's not like you have to buy it. Sure you'll have to spend some time with it, but what's the problem with that? It could be fun
