Greetings All:

Question... I am leaving MS MCE to come to MP and had a questions about the remote functionality... I have an HP controler that is made for MCE. When watching recorded TV I was able in MCE to skip past comercials by hitting the "skip" button on the controler till I got to the show I had recorded.

Does MP support this ability? New to MP so I am trying to get my footing here.

Looks like a great prod!

when I used the skip button in MCE, I really hated it. you could only skip 30 seconds and if you held the button a fraction too long you would end up at the end of the program being asked if you wanted to delete the finished program.
In MP, the same concept is handled better (IMO). The arrow keys around the OK button are used. In the MP config app these buttons are configurable for the amount of time you want to jump.
Typical settings are 15s > 30s > 1m >3m> etc. for each successive key press.

MCE may have improved since I last used it but that was a deal killer for me.

Ya I got sick of the MCE mostly becuase of the way Media Player is used... Can't stand that app... I just figured out the whole timeshifting and am good to go. Every once in awhile I have issues with Zap2It for my guide listings, but other then that this is GOLD.
