Excellent work DJBlu... quick question though, do I pick both BritShorts and EPG Background audio to get a full EPG inc ITV HD? I have only been running it with EPG Background Audio until now so I tried checking both and I lost the sky EPG and just got the freesat one... just wondered if I should be using both or if it is limited to one (it could be I didnt give it enough time, not that patient me - lol)

To get full Sky and ITV HD you do need both selected, it is the setup I have here - all works fine.

When I added brit shorts I had the same problem of Sky epg doing a runner - just went through the inital load again, Manual control->refresh epg and leave it there till it has gone through EPG Background Audio and Brit shorts. Can keep an eye on progresss by checking the epg.log

hope that helps

Great work DJBlu, it's nice to see a full EPG within media portal. Do you know if the Freesat/SKY EPG stream includes genre information

genres = categories = type of program = next release

hope that clears it up

:D

Hi I have been using OpenEPGtoXMLTV.exe with some success since I wanted XMLTV files.

What is weird is that it will work fine with everything but PID 67 which causes it to crash, so I had the idea to replace the .dict file in the folder, the same crashes.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you.

I stopped production on this software to concentrate on the TSWriter.ax.

I think I have the code somewhere so I'll have a look.

P.S. I do still visit DigitalSpy, just not frequently.

Please reply in that forum as this isn't a support thread for the other software.

Cheers.

Hi DJBlu

This looks great... EPG is refreshing as I type.

One small thing... is there any chance that you could consolidate all of the useful information (installation instructions, links to the updated tsreader.ax & known limitations etc) into a single post at the beginning of the thread?
I've just read through 10 pages of posts to get to the files & instructions that I need and I can't gelp wondering if I've missed some critical detail that's buried somewhere.

Keep up the good work

Cheers

    Hi,
This is not a problem with the grabber as such, but I think it may be a problem that others using it also have....

I've just started to use the powerscheduler plugin to put my system into standby mode when not in use. As part of that I've set the plugin to wake my system up every day to grab the epg. But looking at the logs I can see that it only seems to grab the epg for one channel each time it wakes up. Now I have several channels defined to do an epg grab (britshorts, the radio epg channel, plus a dvb-t channel to pick up the data for those dvb-t channels that are not on freesat). So the problem is that in the worse case it can take 3 days (possibly longer if something goes wrong with the grab), to pick up a full epg.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix so (I'd really like the epg grab to do all of the channels in one go)...

    All the best

    Andy

    Andy,

Do you have the option "Prevent Standby when EPG grabbing" enabled?
Also in the PowerScheduler Client (If Server on machine you use to watch) make sure Forced Shutdown is disabled.

For a new version of the TSWriter please look at this post
