Hi All,

IRSS version 1.4.2.3664
MCE remote with receiver
lcd tv sharp aquos
STB amstrad drx890c

I learned remote codes from sky remote controll but blasting is not reliable because of intereference created by my lcd tv, i can see red light on receiver without using remote even moving mce receiver to its full cable length away from lcd didn't help. Only if it is fully covered i get better blasting accuracy but than can't use remote. It is especially bad during the day as the room has many windows, shiny tiles, tv table and coffee table made of shiny metall and glass.
I tried covering tv IR sensor and cut a box to cover front of stb but only solution is to fully cover mce receiver.

Questions:
1) I know that sky box can be controlled using rf out link which accepts remote codes but not sure how it does it and if it is possible to do the same with IRSS?
2) Is there any other ir receiver i could use with mce remote controll? As this way i would leave mce receiver covered in a box for blasting only and other receiver for mce remote control.
3) I don't have RS232 port but there is a connection on motherboard, can anyone recommend serial or usb blasters which work with sky stb?

Thanks in advance

I was looking into buying usbuirt but before i do that i would like to know if irss supports 2 high power infrared emitters or just external ir emitter/blaster which connects at the back of receiver?

Re: Sky STB blasting alternative?: SOLVED

Update:
I purchased usb-uirt and blasting works much better than mce. Usb-uirt has high range emitter Port_3 which works greate without additional irblaster emitter which connects at the back of receiver.
On the other hand IRSS is crashing or resume from standby but it is another issue.
