Sky style epg (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

Now that MP 1.2.0 beta is out and with all the hard work DJBlu has done on getting the sky epg into mepo, i just wondered if it would now be possible to have an epg similar to how sky works in that when you press the guide button, you get a menu showing all channels, entertainment, movies etc and then u choose what you want. I appreciate that there would be alot of people who would just rather go into the guide so this option could have a switch to turn it on or off to suit everyone.

Is anything like this possible now?

You just need to create groups as per here TV Channels - MediaPortal Wiki

Then when in main epg, hitting left button you can select which group you want, pretty much the same as exists for sky

Yeah, thanks for that. I had seen that and as DJBlu's plugin creates all the groups it works well but its not what I want. I want to press guide and be presented with the menu in the same way that a sky digibox works and then select all channels if thats what I want or movies or music etc.

To display tabs at top of epg would need to be done by a skinner if its at all possible with the amount of info already shown and using existing controls.
