I am using the latest version and would like to do some testing with my skystar 2 card again. For whatever reason, MP never detects the card. I did the regsvr32 mpeg2data.ax and rebooted, still no luck. I am just running the skystar 2 drivers and not the software. I know that this should not make a difference. Other software can see the card, so it is installed correctly. I know I am probably missing something very small. Can anyone help me out on this one?

After taking a little better look into this, I have noticed that Skystar or anything related to skystar is included in the capturecards.xml. Am I missing something here? Does anyone have an older capturecard.xml that is known to be working? If you do, just post the lines I would need to add to my caputurecard.xml to allow MP to see my card.

I had a similar problem some time ago with my AirStar2 and I found out the Server4PC application that comes with the Technisat drivers wasn't running. Your problem may unfortunately be different, but check this first. also, try using another build, I was told the capture card and tuning code is currently being re-organized and thus unstable.

I know exactly what you are talking about. server4pc app. I was under the impression that this was no longer needed to detect the card. I will load it and see if this helps.

The only reason I do not have this program on my pc is because I want to load as little as possible onto that machine.

I will give it a try and let you guys know what comes of it.

I installed the server4PC and it looks like that did the trick. The autotune tab displays nothing right now... and I am hoping this is because of the revamp of the skystar 2. Thanks for helping me out.

If there is no autotune... and no way of putting in channels.... how are you guys setting up your sats?
