Slideshow on 17" and Moevies on Plasma? (1 Viewer)

I am thinking on building my HTPC

I want to have my 42 " plasma as primary and a larger LCD ( 17" or 19 " as 2nd display. That 2nd display would almost always be on and would act as user interface display while operating the remote of the HTPC and when no remote is operated as a slideshow image viewer. Something like the screensaver from XP.
This is much nicer that the small image slide show gimmicks they are selling now

If I operate the controls The screensaver disappears and only after say 1 minute of no activity re-appears

Of course I would like to playback the video's on the large plasma screen.


Big question can software detect the screen is switched on?

IN that case all info might be shown on the plasma as long as that is switched on?Also the screen saven could be show there.

I would not like to have a movie running on the plasma and also see it on the TFT. In that case I think I would prefer the slideshow or a blanked screen.

Can I do something like this with MP?

I think the cybrmage touch screen display plug in would do what you need. It lets a second screen be used to display info and act as a touch screen.

I haven't used it myself yet though...

Now the question comes up:
Will that plugin also work with just a remote?
Will it enable me to show photo's as long as there is no "remote action"?
I have no version of MP installed yet My current system does not have balls enough to view more then normal divx.
and it is not connected to a TV .

Hmm tried to find this plugin anf found: MEDIAPORTAL - free MediaCenter HTPC Software - CybrDisplay External Status Plugin
But I do not see any info on what this plug in really does.

Is there anyone that can shine some light on this?

I am reading some more on the MP and I am getting more and more convinced I will be using tis for my HTPC as soon I build the PC.
I see there is a mypictures and myvideos.
Is it doable to have mypictures on the 3x4 17"screen and the mymovies always on the 42"Plasma?
When I understand the functions right I think could live with the control display on both simultaneously
