slightly OT. gamepad + mame + mediaportal (1 Viewer)

Hi,

i've read through https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=8570 , and i'm looking for some suggestions on which game pad to purchase for use with MP (svn-Latest) and the mame plugins.

Does anyone recommend a specific game pad over another. I'll need to use both the gamepad and a haupage remote to control MP (game pad soley for gamplay and to kill mame process). Is this possible?

Not talking mame, but these two logitech controllers are really nice. Robustness and precision.

I also recommend Saitek gamepads (P990 without force feedback, P2600 with force feedback, P3000 wireless). Less perfect quality, but quite cheap - and they have six buttons on the front while all the newer Logitech gamepads only have four (plus the shoulder buttons).

Logitech Rumblepad 2 here..... working very nice

The rf signal really has no lag, as it's designed for games, and i use it as a remote as well, since it's faster than anything IR

As for simultaneous use with a remote, there is no problem with it, since MP get whatever keypresses you give it, i use the gamepad, keyboard, mouse and remote interchangeable (whatever happens to be in front of me at the moment) without a problem

Saitek P2600 gets my vote (more Buttons) Excellent Quality.

Thanks all, i've gone with the wired logitech as a temp solution (cheap $25). Looking to grab a wireless version shortly :>

off to play Black Tiger , Street Fighter and Wonderboy!

anyone else experience issues with the kill/close processes features? My settings don't seem to stick.
