Slightly uneven live TV (1 Viewer)

I am using MediaPortal as a front-end to Argus TV, so I'm not sure which forum I should be posting in.

If I select Live TV and tune to BBC News HD, there is a scrolling news tickertape at the bottom of the screen, the text scrolling right to left. Every 1/2 second or so there is a very slight jerk of the text leftwards. If I record the channel and play it back, it plays fine.

BBC News HD is behaving strangely at the moment (breakup with live tv but records OK) so I did a test with the ITV breakfast show, which has a similar scrolling news message. I used MediaPortal 1.6, XBMC Gotham and a Humax FoxSat PVR. On the Humax the scrolling was perfectly smooth, and on XBMC almost as good - you have to look hard to see that it dithers slightly. On MediaPortal it's a definite left flick every 1/2 second or so. But recording it and playing back are fine.

When I can get the room to myself for a while I'll do a screenshot and also have a look at how to get some logging.
