Slow channel change (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Hope someone can help, I've been attempting to setup tv server in single seat with my new hauppauge HD-DVB-S2 card as without tv server it is not detected.
But channel change can take 10-20 seconds at times.. I ran mp test tool to help diagnose the cause.

logs attached. any other info pleasde let me know.

Ok,
With no clues suggested, I ran a fresh intall of xp -all updates etc,etc.. setup and latest svn's are broken to test.
Anybody got a working solution for my card..

Do you have some CPU hungry applications running? Just a guess.

It has taken over one second (maybe more) to run thru couple of debug log lines. I.e. that logging is done so that there isn't any other code running in between.

this is a mediaportal machine.. only AVG AV and Commodo.. turning the off made no difference.. C2D 6300 1 gb ram etc..

but i re-formatted now, but with latest svns. I cannot even set up to test if the channel change is cured or not.. I was hoping people knew of some of the older ones that work.. I've already posted problems with database errors for the current svn's (inc the fixed version) which was fine till I started sorting my channels.. posted error log for that svn..

16361 from the 25th October should work for TVServer, I'm getting errors with newer on DVB-T.

i installed MP and the TV server from a few days ago (Revision:16993)

all is fantastic!

the only thing is the *sometimes* slow channel change..which seems to get worse the more u change the channel..minor issue

i press *channel up/down* on my remote , the OSD appears and i stop pressing up/down when it gets to a channel i want to watch....sometimes MP just sits there and it doesnt look like it will change channel

i can press *back* which takes me out of fullscreen mode..and shows me the GUI and the tv playing in a small preview window box..at this point..its still trying to change channel but its as if the signal hasnt been sent or pickup up by the MP TVServer...

then i highlight the preview video window with the mouse or with the remote controll..and BOOM..there it goes..it switches

some issue with focus perhaps?


i wanna say thankyou for all ur hard work and i can now enjoy MP on a new pc..many happy years to come =)

I have also noticed similar issues with TVE3. After installing mediaportal and all the rest to make TVE3 functional on three different systems( SINGLE SEAT EACH) I have come to the conclusion that in my case it is not a SVN related issue, but rather an issue with the BDA drivers compatibility with TVE3 and my card. (Anysee E30C PLUS CONAX)

The channels usually take between 15 to 20 seconds to change with TVE3.
TVE2 works nicely, change in under 2 seconds.

Well, I can confirm this with my setup as well. It seems to occur more frequently when pressing number buttons compared to when bringing up OSD (pressing enter and then select channel).

But as said it is not every time - mostly it change channels quickly 1-2 seconds, but then occasionally it can take 10-20 seconds. So it is an intermittent issue for me.

Will see if I can get you logs later.
