slow folder browsing music (1 Viewer)

well guys have alittle problem
when accessing a share on a server via the mapped drive on the media portal XP SP2 box
takes no longer than 2-3 seconds to view
but when accessing this share from with inside mediaportal it takes upwards of 20 seconds

it is a rather large share with over 2000 folders in there with a lot of them have (not all have the folder.jpg) in for the album image
i am at the newest verstion with a svn from a couple of days ago but unable to fix this
any one got any ideas

Need logs and a record of your system so developers can understand what maybe happening.
Without that information I doubt if anyone will try to help. :sorry:

Hi,
You should use db mode instead & Artist, Artist Album or whatever, much better when using network folders.

yeah the problem is i like any one else's the entire music collection is not tagged spot on 100%
so songs disappear and are not availble or have wrong name
so i look for the album via the share interface
which is easier to find if not in the DB
when i get home will do a dump so can show you what it is doin
