Solutions for for the Non-US / UK (1 Viewer)

I'd like to know what others have been doing about getting last.fm to work since the new regulations have been put in place. I'm using Hotspot Shield ( Get Behind the Shield! Hotspot Shield by AnchorFree ) and it seems to work OK but It's one more application I need to have running

For me it's removal of scrobbling and the last.fm plugin from the htpc and scrobbling from my ipod and laptop. Shoutcast streams in the Radio plugin seem to be the way I'll go.

Shoutcast doesn't customize based on your listening though does it? Kinda a different thing if you look at it like that

No, of course the individual streams themselves don't, but given the wide variety of streams available, you can approximate the kind of thing you could get with the tag-based stations of Last.FM.

It's not the same and nowhere near as seamless (and until they switched off the service why I used Last.FM and consented to giving them my listening data), but it's what I'm using to fill the gap for now.

Nope, but non UK and US users have to pay for subscription.

How about just paying the 3 dollars It's an excellent service for the price of.. well.. a couple candy bars a month..

It's the principle of the thing. If it was Everyone pays. Sure, I'll pay. But it's BS that only 3 countries get it free.
