Hey,
I would like to (re-)map some buttons on my remote. It is a Gyration GYR3101US but I think this concerns other remotes as well. It basically is an MCE remote but the problem is that it uses RF instead of IR so the standard MCE plugins as well as the MediaPortal Configuration -> Remote -> Microsoft MCE don't work (I have to use "General HID"). What I am looking for is hard to explain so I will just try to give it a shot:
(I am refering to "standard buttons" when the button works inside MediaPortal with the "general HID" option activated and refering to "non working buttons" when I wasn't able to see an event triggered by it anywhere)
I am looking for a possibility to map buttons which aren't mapped by default inside MediaPortal or even Windows.
I first tried by mapping EVERY single button available inside the MediaPortal Configuration -> Remote -> General HID -> mapping. The non working buttons didn't trigger anything I mapped inside MediaPortal.
So I tried Autohotkey which allows to monitor every keystroke by using a keyboard- / mousehook. Some standard buttons triggered an event, others didn't (note: even the ones which don't trigger an event work inside MediaPortal). The non working buttons didn't trigger anything at all (neither in AutoHotkey nor in MediaPortal).
I also tried AutoIt 3 but according to their documentation the buttons I am looking for are not supported at all.
Note: I use Autohotkey and AutoIt for other purposes and have remapped some buttons in the past so I tried them. I also read quite some threads about Girder and HIP but they seem to need the original way of MCE remote input via IR. MCE input via RF seems to be unsupported.
So I would like to know if anybody of you has an idea on how to get a hold on these buttons at all. How are they refered to in Windows basically ? Which other applications could I try ? I created this image to show you which buttons I am talking about specifically. I took their description of the manual of the remote.
Any help would be highly appreciated
