    Got it! :D
The problem is that the resolution of the first sample is too low (360x204). TsReader has a hard-coded lower limit of 300x300. If you bump the resolution up a step then the sample would play. Is there a reason you're recoding at such a low res?

Damn, you are a blood hound.

    Nice work, thank you.

Allthough tragic, there are some underdeveloped parts of the world left (my flat's DSL connection for instance)...
I mainly developed the MyPlexMedia plugin to browse and consume my media when I'm abroad. And due to the fact that my home line has sub MBit/s upstream and sometimes I try to watch something over 3G or even Edge whilst tethering my phone to the laptop it just would have been nice to select the lowest quality possible just to have some scrambled company... And Plex offers this kind of resolution of course - so I saw fit to allow anybody to use it.

Is there any reason for this limitation?!?! Doesn't sound right to me (why is it square?!?)... And quite frankly kicked me in the private parts coming from nowhere!

    What do we do guys?

PS: Can you point me to the part of the code where I can find this limitation? Because even thought I try to avoid C++ lately, I might still have it in me to replace a 300 with something larger...

I wonder why - I would have thought that QCIF (176 × 144) or maybe 176 x 120 would have been a more sensible lower limit (assuming you need one at all in a splitter filter ?)

I'm with you Tony, 300x300 limit sounds ridiculous. It's not anything standard + a square (?), seems like someone added it blindly and it left over since :)

Exactly what I thought seconds before you posted... A square limit? I can't think of any square video file that I've seen in my life...

But since this issue lured quite some dev group heavyweights in I want to make something crystal clear:

You guys gave me a glimmer of hope there! Please don't let me down now ;-)

Re: [Help needed] TsReader.ax is givin' me a hard time...

    Hi again

Okay, first a correction to make. In my haste to report the problem I incorrectly stated that the resolution must be at least 300x300. Not quite true. Either the horizontal or vertical resolution must be at least 300 px. Huge apologies! :sorry:

According to our SVN logs the limit has been in place for coming up on 2 years. Before that it was a minimum of 100 px in the same way. No reason is given for the increase - it just seems to have "happened" as part of a big cleanup.

So, those in favour of knocking the limit back down to 100??? :D

[Edit: by the way, the purpose of the limit seems to be for ensuring that the video stream is "valid". There are other conditions there, but I don't have any comment on them - too technical.]

+1 on my behalf, obviously ;-)

Anyway could you provide a testable binary of TsReader.ax with the adjusted limitation?

"but I don't have any comment on them - too technical.]" much appreciated, my head is still ringing from the mention of PMTs and 'specification'...

I think that would be pretty unanimous, unless someone can give a valid reason not too ;)
