Hi to all the MediaPortal users

I'm quite new to MediaPortal. I've been using it now for just over two months (although only for Photo/Internet Radio/Movie playback). I've just got a DVB-T card (Hauppauge Nova-TD USB) to use with with MediaPortal (MP). However, I've got a couple of questions...

1) The Hauppauge WinTV software that comes with the TV card is able to pick-up a single from (what looks like) all the DVB-T multiplexes available here, although with a low signal. However MediaPortal is only able to "pick-up" about 5 channels. I've done numerous scans but still the same 5 channels are received. The strange thing is that one of the channels that WinTV picks up and MP doesn't is The Hits, which WinTV can play fairly error free, so i don't understand why MP doesn't find it when doing a search.

Could it be that MP isn't sensitive enough?

Just so you know, I'm using the supplied aerials (as I've not gotten leads installed to allow for connecting my roof-top aerial as yet. Thats next on my list:) Because i'm using the supplied aerials, i'm using the card in Diversity mode rather than Dual-Tuner mode (set in the Hauppauge Diversity Tool). Could this possibly be the cause?

I thought of manually adding the channels to MP (via MP Config > Television > TV Channels > Add) using the information from WinTV's search and entering it in manually, but the only info I can get from WinTV is "Frequency", no Service ID, Transport ID, Bandwidth or PID info which is required in MP. Where can i find this information (either from with WinTV or somewhere online?)

In case this will help, i receive TV from the Sandy Heath transmitter in the UK

2) Is there a way to set MediaPortal up so that when I press the "Power" button on my (45-button) Hauppauge remote that MediaPortal will shut down Windows instead of just closing MP (or even better, as the user whether they want to close MP, or Shut Down Windows?

3) I've got an external network Hard Drive (a Western Digital MyBook World). Can I have MediaPortal record files to that instead of my system HDD? I notice that in the Disc Quota pertion of the MP Config (MP COnfig > Television > Recording > Disc Quota) it's only listing my Drive C, not my mapped network drive. Does this mean i can only record to drive C, or is there somewhere else i can set this up.

Thanks in advance

Definately, we've had the issue with DIVERSITY models before, a good outside aerial sorts it, with possibly a booster on the mast, just depends on your reception.

    Hi

Thanks for confirming my suspicion that the Diversity could be the cause? Is there any workaround for this until i can get it connected to a roof-top aerial? We need to get a cable going from the aerial (which is actually outside the window of the room the PC is in) into the room, not sure when we'll be able to get that done.

We shouldn't need a booster as we receive fairly good Freeview (DVB-T) signal from this outside aerial on the TV connected to it.

Any one have help on my other questions?

For this one, I think the issue is the mapped network drive.
Can you use the UNC format instead? IE, \\<computer name>\drive
This works for the built in TV engine but I am not sure for the TV Server.

Yes, i can use the UNC format. I'm just using the normal TV engine (i think, I'm just using the standard MP 0.2.3.0).

Where would I set-up where recordings are saved by MediaPortal? Is it in MediaPortal Configuration > Television > Recording > Custom Paths & Filenames?
