Quite a few recordings done lately aren't playable at all in MediaPortal (the MP GUI freezes) but play fine outside MP as long as you try not to skip forward in the episode. I've confirmed this on a different computer running Win7 and WMP12. Opening the .ts-file in Videolan and skipping there works though.

I haven't run in to this problem before and I've run MediaPortal for three years now. I'm recording a TV-Series now and some episodes play fine and some don't. Those that play have a thumbnail of the episode with a 2x2 working screenshot from the episode. Those that don't play have 3 screens in the thumbnail that look ok but the "last one" in the lower right corner of the thumbnail is plain white. Perhaps as if MP couldn't read to the end of the file or something?

Tried to delete mediainfo.dll according to the workaround in #0003101 but no fix.
Tried to switch TV-codec from Cyberlink to ffdshow (which shouldn't work) and to MPC but no help.

Is this perhaps similar to https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...eze-when-skip-then-mediaportal-crashes-87738/ ?

The recording is 1.3gb large. Tried to snip it shorter in Avidemux but that program seems to have fixed whatever was wrong with the first file.

Update: I just discovered there was an Alpha-version!

"[Workaround] #2926 - MediaPortal can now work without MediaInfo.dll
This workaround will help users to play files which cause a freeze of MediaPortal on playback start due to a bug in MediaInfo"

Problem sorted. Case closed. Everything works. But since what version did this start to happen?
