Hi guys,

I've got a question to all of you.
How do you sort your film database?

OriginalTitle?
TranslatedTitle?
FormattedTitle?
Something else?

I've got the following issue.
I wanted to have nicely written translated titles and also nicely written original titles.

But If you want to have this you can not have a correct sorted film list.
With nicely written names something like the following could happen

Alien
Alien 3
Alien 4 - Resurrection
Aliens (which is the second part)

ANT only uses original and translated film titles and no formatted one even if it sets it in the xml.

Do you have a possibility to have nicely written original and translated titles and at the same time a great sorted film library?

I sort by date of adding the movie.
You can use hiearchy groups, so you would have all alien movies in the group "alien".

I have struggled with this myself, being a little bit OCD ;) I am using the hierarchy, but when you sort by date added, this will only group titles (e.g. under "alien") if they have all been added on the same date. If they have all been added on separate dates, they will show up as "Alien\Alien", "Alien\Alien 2", "Alien\Alien 4 - Resurrection", etc.

I would be nice if you could have a default sort by "date added", and a default sort by "year" when entering hierarchy groups :)

Yeah, I agree with that

not sure how this should work:
MyFilms support multiple groupinglevels - so you could also have
    "adventure\Adventure collection\Movie 1"
    "adventure\Adventure collection\Movie 2"
    "adventure\Adventure collection\Movie 3"

How can MyFilms know at what level what sorting to be used?

Plus: The view can be mixed - thus showing movies itself AND groups.

I've got a question if it is possible to add "Menu Editor" like in Moving pictures plugin to Enhancement feature list.
Flexible user sorting all in one, with adding filters like in MyFilms Logos...
    Detail info is here:

Some concepts in MyFilms are quite different than in MoPi - and so is internal structure.
So I would say, we're somehow limited to maybe add some nicer GUI to better edit/maintain certain plugin configurations/aspects - but going beyond that would require a rewrite of quite some parts, what is currently quite limited due to available resources.
Sorry I can't give a better answer to that.
