sound gets distorted and htpc unresponsive (1 Viewer)

Hey!

I have this problem with my htpc, that sometimes in the middle of a movie the sound becomes distorted. When I then try to stop the movie the computer doesn't respond and I have to hit the reboot button on my case.

Most of the time I can watch a whole movie without problems and it seems to happen in a random way. Maybe once every 2 or 3 hours on average.

Anyone have any idea of what could be causing this, or how to fix it

Check you MP logs for errors and post anything you find.

Also check windows event viewer system logs.

Could be:

Drivers
Bad or Failing RAM
Dying Harddrive

Thanks, it looks like it is one of those problems that are pretty hard to fix Now that I think about, I think it has happended once outside mediaportal too, so it's probably not related to mediaportal at all.
