thanks for help on this one people

i uninstalled hvr-1300 and updated with the v4 cd from hauppauge

also uninstalled media-portal, deleted folders, then moved to the tvengine and rc3 of media-portal

playback is ok now, just got issues with recording which is something else

thanks again
