When I change channel the sounds pops and clicks on the new channel. It seems to do it everytime from and to any channel. If I stop timeshifting and start again sound is restored.

In the attached logs I started the TV on BBC One and then switched to Film4 +1. The sound popped and clicked on Film4 +1.

This problem didn't manifest in 1.1.3.

Is there anything I can do?

Edit: The sound is the most obvious symptom but the video is also jerky. Again it is fixed after stopping and restarting timeshift.

    Hi spiderwheels

The obvious questions would be have you tried different codec combinations, and were you using the exact same setup and configuration in 1.1.3?

    Hi mm,

I've not touched the set-up since upgrading. Once I fixed the database upgrade I just fired it up and it worked. The only reason why I didn't notice this immediately is that I didn't watch a lot of live TV on the first evening.

I will try different codecs (I only have powerDVD 8 and Microsoft codecs on my system - I have used both in the past on 1.1.x and not noticed any differences between them).

It is similar to a buffer exhaustion issue I have seen in a completely unrelated system but I guess that would show up in the logs.

I've only just had a chance to look at it. I changed from powerDVD8 video and audio codecs to the Microsoft ones and it seems to have stopped. I guess powerDVD8 codecs are now incompatible but I doubt that affects many people as I believe its fairly easy to get hold of the later versions.

    Thanks for the tip mm
