Specify audio output "port" (1 Viewer)

Hi,

First post.
I am looking to install MediaPortal on my current office PC (Q6600 CPU and soon to upgrade OS to Win7-64 bit).
The plan is to replace the current graphics card with an ATI HD5450 and run a HDMI cable through the wall to my AV receiver (Denon AVR-2809) in the lounge room next to the office. When I run MediaPortal on the PC, I want the video and audio to be sent to the HDMI port on the graphics card, but for normal office use, I want non-MediaPortal audio to be presented to my PC speakers. I can't see how Windows allows you to associate an application with a specific audio "port" - it seem to leave this to the application.

I was thinking that I would:
Set default audio to my PC speakers,
Use screenselector to choose on which screen MP should start (ie the device connect to the HDMI port).

My question is: with this arrangement, will the MP audio also be directed to the HDMI port along with the video.

Also, feel free to comment on the suitability of this graphics card - I believe it does DTS passthrough or bitstream.

I don't tink you'll have any problems doing what you're describing. You can specify audio device in Mediaportal configuration.
