Speed of listings (1 Viewer)

Thanks for all hard work, Media Portal is it !

i only have one big thing ! when you have alot of musik i have about 2 TB you get slower than hell when browsing the lists. I try in windows there its fast and installed XMBC and its fast too but not in Media Portal.

Is there anything i can do to get a good speed on listings?

You are (ofcourse) using a database view (like "artist", "albums" etc) and not "sjares" ("file viewing").
System specs?

Im using the filebrowser view i have all my music in folders with catagory and then artist and last the record.

So you mean that it work better and faster if i use another viwe like artist and so on?

It would work much faster if you use a DB view. Why? Well, I'll leave that to tohers.
Using a DB view is both faster and much better for usability. Only "downside" is that your files be tagged correctly to get a 100 % result.

I am nothing but amazed every time I read that people still use the "file browser" view...

I dont understand why file view is slower? If a use another program, i goes fast so it must be at ploblem in MP code

Like darklord, I also have my files on the disk in genre-folders and artist-folders under there. This allows me to select a genre(folder) and then browse for an artist under there (without meticulously tagging the entire collection, many of my files are not tagged, unfortunately).

I share darklord's wish for faster file-browsing. Thank you.

I searched a bit in the forum (did you? ), and it seems that there are others reporting the "share view" to be slow, but I can't find an explanation nor a "solution" ... other than tag your files correctly and use a DB-view.

I have tried to tag my files now and it works better but now i cant see witch files are lostless and dosent have the same overview ! So i think its better with fileview, must be a simple thing to fix that speed problem.
Its no problem if you have little files.
