 Here we go again, I should have stuck to RC1 - it set up first go and functioned, RC2 is a fiddle. Now I have no sound using SPIDIF, I have installed and uninstalled AC3Filter and checked all the sound card settings and still no go - can anyone help??

Are you using Reltek by chance ??? If so I had weeks of hassle to get this working and eventually found a tick box change that sorted it.

If you are using Realtek let me know

I am not sure - Its AC(& but I not sure if Vinyl is a realtek - but I am willing to try anything - its my last problem and I can start using the system - problem is I used to use an Audigy2 and it has failed and have to revert back to the on board sound.

The LAN is rhine II so maybe Vynal is not realtek?????

I willl lokk on the VIA website

Not sure if it will help but

I have Realtek control panel for my audio and run AC3 filter (this is set to spdif only). In realtek I had no sound at all and found a setting in the options to reduce the frequency down one setting from default (I think to 48 from 96 but not a home so cant check) and all worked fine.

Have a scout around your control option for audio and see if you have a similar control setting - may be worth a go

Thanks marcus

I was looking on the australian media centre site and read about that but did not know was realtek

I will try now - thanks again - will let you know as i have to wait till family stops watching a show on TV

I found my problem, I blamed everything about RC2 and it was the flap on the spdif connector had broken away and fallen inside it gave me a false inpression of being connected and as soon as I cleared the blockage ALL IS WELL

Thanks for your help anyway
