Hi,

I'm in the process of trying MP1 as a potential replacement for VMC+TV Pack.

I have a problem with stability at the minute, I think because of two things - 1. I'm not sure the VMC Services are totally disabled, 2. I think I've fiddled with the setup just a little bit too much.

With the first one, while I read that TV Server will disable the VMC Services - I had to go into MSConfig and disable them in there, also the little icon that runs in the system try (was new in the TV Pack) is still there, AND on some remote presses (guide, usually) the VMC Client starts and then crashes, which then takes MP down with it.

So, (and I have searched) is there a difinitive list/guide of diabling EVERYTHING VMC related?

On the second one, I started playing with codecs and whenever I've done that in the past (even before VMC when I was using MCE) something's got broken. I think the same has happened here, and perhaps the best thing I can do is uninstall TV Server and MP, and reinstall making my desired choices ONCE rather than fiddling to get there.

On this one, is there a sensible way of backing up channels, channel order, guide data, remote mappings?

2nd and last posts tell you what to do.

As far as Codecs go, M$ for mpeg, and Vista Codec Pack, using FFDShow for all audio codec settings within MP, to be able to listen to certain mono radio stations like 5Live, FFDShow Audio config\codecs MP1\MP2 change from libmad to libavcodec (click on libmad and select libavcodec).
Configure any speaker output under mixer including woofer (LFE), normalise under Volume.
SPDIF for using a receiver is enabled in output.

To repair your codecs, use filmerit (link in signature)

Thanks - the regedit did the trick - didn't need to lay with codecs for that.

However, I had played with the codecs, so I'll carry on fiddling. When I use ffdshow for video, I get no OSD...
