Starting external programs in MP 1.1.2 (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am just moving from MEEDIO to MediaPortal.
Cool design, cool plugins... but maybe I am just branded but I think Meedio is much easier to configure...
I am looking since 2 days in the internet and in the forum how to start external programs (.exe) in MP with a menu button on the Home-screen.
I am already appologizing when this is a question already asked so many times but pls point me to the threat with a working solution.
All the answers using Multishortcut-plugin do not work in MP 1.1.2 (outadet plugin)

I am appreciating every hint...

I think Multishortcut is still working. Atleast it does for me. I use it to launch IE to watch NBA League Pass and other online sports.

Nevertheless it does not work with MP 1.1.2 under Windows 7 Home edition.
MediaPortal is actually useless for me if I can not start external programs.

Any other way to do that?

forget to mention 64-bit Windows 7 Home premium...

I got multishorcut to work in MP 1.1.2 and i have win7 ultimate 32bit.

So what I am doing wrong?
Can it be that this happens because I am using a German Win7?

It always tells me when I am selecting the plugin config menu that the Multishortcut plugin is note supported by my MP version.
I am not a total dummy so I tried different things... but nothing worked.

Funny is that the very first time the plugin seems to load but because I did not copy the language files it told me that these files are missing. I copied them and since then no way to load the plug-in in the configuration menu.

:-( ... sad but true...

BTW: Anybody got the HuluDesktop-Plugin working under Win7?
Shows missing files because the HuluDesktop is copied somewhere different than under XP.
