Okay... but again, the way you say "I get the same issues..." sounds like this (this = "MP starts up, but no plugins of any kind are loaded..." etc.) has happened more than once. I asked you about this before, but you didn't reply. Please confirm: yes or no. Has it happened more than once or not? I'm asking this because if it only happened once, it doesn't seem worth worrying about too much. On the other hand, if it has happened more than once, and is continuing to happen on a regular basis, then that's obviously something that needs to be sorted out. To me that seems an odd way of putting it... but yes the "TV on" button should be on to watch TV. The button is a simple on/off button for TV. Turn the button on => TV will start. Turn the button off => TV will stop. If you still don't understand, I suggest you try it and see what it does. By the way, here's what the wiki says: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/14_Using_MediaPortal/3_TV#Using_TV No. With MediaPortal you can't disable time-shifting. TV is either on (and you're timeshifting)... or it's off. This "awkward" "back out" that you described should be as simple as pressing "stop" on your remote (or "b" on a keyboard) before pressing "power" (or whatever it is that you do. If you insist that you want to turn off TV with one button press then I guess you will have to figure out how to program your remote. If you can't program your remote power button then perhaps a [free] tool like EventGhost can help you? It can translate one event (eg. pressing the power button) into multiple events (eg. "stop" + "power off"), and is context aware (so you can have the power button do one thing when power is already off, and another thing when power is on). Very flexible and powerful. I highly recommend it.
