I'm revisiting this as there must be a way to get this working.

Running Vista SP3
MP 1.2.2 client/server on same machine.
IRSS 1.4.2.4290 w/TV Server Plugin patch.
I have disabled MCS remote in the client.
I have selected 3rd Party Checks and disabled Media Center services.

I have the IR codes for 0 to 9 & OK.

I am using an STB and require blasting. Mediaportal client has the IRSS plugin enabled.
All the log files indicate that everything is being sent without errors. Even tried command line and no errors logged.

One of my buds actually flashes (one bud is visible and the other is not) send to both ports. The IRSS tray icon is green.

I was able to train and use LMGestion before support was dropped from TVServer in 1.2.1 and by LMGestion. Eventghost can learn and blast codes.

Can anyone think of anything to try to get blasting to work? I've had to start using VMC (which blasts fine btw or did before installing IRSS). I would prefer to use MP.

I even tried the registry change of removing 01-03 for the remote.

I'm going mad!

Thanks,

Ron

Did some testing this evening.

Built an XP SP3 VM.
Installed MP 1.2.2
Installed IRSS latest version 1.4.2.4290

Plugged in the IR receiver and blaster (USB).

Learned (0 to 9 + ok) using IRSS Translator, learning seemed to work better than usual.

Blasted out learned channels.

Worked!! Haven't tried the plugins for MP yet but will tonight and update here.

It looks like IRSS is incompatible with Vista so will start a full rebuild of the physical using XP SP3.
Will update progress.

Okay, built a new XP SP3 machine from scratch with all the patches.
Installed MP, and IRSS w/TVServer update.
Learned the IR codes using the TVServer plugin - worked fine incl. blasting.
Went to MP client (on same machine) made sure plugin for IRSS was enabled.
IR codes are displayed and tested them - they all worked fine!

Now when I start up MP and select from the guide nothing happens.
I must be missing something on the MP client IRSS plugin.
I'll start searching and reading and playing.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get the MP client IRSS plugin to do channel changes let me know what I missed.
I'm getting pretty close now.

Thanks,

Ron

It might be me....

Found that the TVServer IRSS plugin STB config was setup on the IPTV instead of the correct card.

After reconfiguring the STB to use the correct card for blasting (my big mistake) and a restarting of the machine.
It works!! Fist time I've ever been able to get IRSS to work. Time to play.

Hopefully this may help someone, who knows.

Success was short lived.
Apparently it had a restart it didn't like. IRSS has now stopped working.
The following error now appears in the IRSS Server event log.

Starting to feel like a Blog. :)

A cold reboot has restored functionality to the IRSS server. Still getting some crashing after entering the IRSS configuration when the IRSS server restarts.

Will start looking into why my MCE remote takes multiple presses to get a key to work.

    Hi

Yes its very quiet in here! I think most of the MePo Users don`t work with the IRSS :( and maybe thats the reaseon, why IRSS has no active developers at the moment :(
I got the same Problem with the IR Server when restarting the Server from Configuration Menu. i couldn`t find a solution for that at the moment but i hope that i`m done with the Settings and don't need to restart the server from Config :).

I did not know that. That's not good and makes me worry a little. Every new version of MP is a risk to IRSS users, just like 1.2.0 broke the IRSS TVServer plugin (now patched).

I managed to get the blasting all sorted out and went to use the remote and found it to be intermittent, sometimes requiring multiple presses to get it to move. I configured the IRSS MP Client plugin to use the MCE remote and linked the buttons on the remote to the buttons. I'm thinking I may have to adjust the IRSS Configuration for the receiver. Any experience with this?

Thanks for replying, doesn't seem so much like a blog anymore. :D

I use a Harmony One as MCE and got no problem with the input keys. no double clicks, no hanging keys and very fast response. Do you use a normal mce remote?
Maybe you have to adjust the Keyboard timing settings in the iMon Receiver config in the IRSS Installation.

I have both a Harmony One and an MCE. Both are exhibiting the same issue.

Before using IRSS I had used LMGestion (now unsupported too) and used the built in MCE remote support and it worked great.
It definitely appears to be an issue with IRSS. There are no double keys, mostly I have to press say the "ok" key three to four times to get it to work.

When configuring the remote in the MP client in the IRSS plugin I removed the default remote and added the "Microsoft MCE" remote. Selected say the "stop" button and then pressed the remote "stop" button to do the linking. Hopefully I've done this part correctly.

Maybe you have to adjust the Keyboard timing settings in the iMon Receiver config in the IRSS Installation.

I think you're right. I'll take a look at the timing setting to see if I can get it working.
