The timing accuracy of synchronization pulses is typically poorer from a tape source than from a broadcast source. Setting the value to 1 tells the decoder to relax its standards, which leads to a better chance of maintaining sync.

Sorry to bring up a "resolved issue".. but this behaviour is exactly what is currently happened to me ...

Quick background :

I was previously working perfectly .. but due to some really bad issues with my Hauppauge remote drivers that wouldnt fix, I had to format and re-install. In the process I moved from XP to windows 7 (64 bit) and I have absolutely everything back to normal, but for some reason, my previously working STB channel changing is not working.

I have set up the channels correctly (as per the image .. the same as I had previously) .. I can go to the TV3 Blaster plugin, click STB Setup .. and enter any channel into the "test" box .. and it will change no problem, but when I use channel preview, no channel change takes place. So to elaborate further .. if I have my STB on channel 110 .. then I set up a channel for 101 .. and select preview .. the channel doesnt change .. it stays on 110, and obviously this is what comes through the tuner.

I took a while to find the tvserver logs (didnt notice the handy button on the to left of the Tvserver Screen) and took a look at the tv.log, and something caught my eye .. here is a snippet ...

I know the country is wrong .. (will go back and fix as soon as everything is working !!) .. but I see the TV3Blaster gets a request for a channel change .. but it looks like it returns -1 .. could someone confirm whether this is correct, and if not .. what could be causing this problem ..) I will google it some more, and post a reply if I get a fix.

PS. I did try both "cable"and "antenna"options (no idea if they make a diiference)
