My friend it worked like a charm, I set it to your default of 5000 and the problem went away! If I ever get to Osnabruck I owe you a night out!

Problems Are Back!

Hey rtv

Hope your out there mon friend, need your help agian.

The streaming media issue has returned!!! Would you believe.

I can get perfect playback if I set the stream to 300 but not at 700k.

I have added the line into the medialportal xml to set the stream buffer, i have tried at 5000 and 15000 but it does not seam to help.

Usual things apply, if I use the yahoo player it's perfect at 500k

Is there a reason that the plugin uses 700 not 500?

Can you please help me, I really feel the need to listen to chicane again!

Hm.. You're on 0.2.2.0 or latest svn? 500kbit is okay? What was your connection's bandwith again?

Thanks for getting back to me

I am on 0.2.0.4 I can not use the latest SVN as it has problems with my HVR-1300 card.

My connection is up-to 8mb it actually runs closer to 6.8mb.

I have done the usual tweaks but to no avail.

2. open your mediaportal.xml
3. find <section name="general">
4. add <entry name="streamingbuffer">5000</entry> below
5. test again.
6. if unsuccessfull try different values like 2000 or 15000 (msec)
7. report back

I now seem to have solved this problem of the streaming media being irratic.

I am not a programmer so if this is actually what fixed the problem it was a fluke.

Any way I modified this file: MyMusicVideoSettings.xml

I found that there was no reference for 500k streams so I as you can see added one and made it the default. Obvioulsy if you go into the plug-in and look at the config it still only lists 56,128,300,768 however it does appear to have solved the problem! I am currently using version 0.2.0.4 as the new 0.2.2.0 does not appear to work correctly with my system so I have not checked to see if this has been modifed in the new version. However it does seem to have solved the problem?

If you agree then can we add this into the plug-in config for easier selection in the future or have you already done this?
