First a grateful thanks to all the hard work by the team, the time and effort you all have put into this is huge and I thank you! I am putting together a system with the goal of being able to schedule recordings from my DirecTV box and be able to view the material in 3 different rooms. I am in the USA. I have purchased the components listed in my system information and subscribed to Schedules Direct. I also purchased MCEBuddy to filter my recordings, hopefully implementing AutoHotKey or something to clean them before I watch them. I have spent about 1 week exploring the forum trying to educate myself. I seem to sense frustration in specific areas and would like to avoid a lot of that. (Words for me to eat)
With this in mind I will search and then ask before I do, documenting to try to be helpful to myself and others. SO...
I cannot get a clear idea as to what my operating system should be, Windows 7 or start right with Windows 10.
The same question for which MediaPortal version. I would think MediaPortal2 but it is not clear to me that the Schedules Direct plugin is functioning for it. I will be assembling the hardware this afternoon and proceed with the soft side based on whatever responses I receive. There are a lot of smart members here and I thank you in advance for any guidance you may provide.
