Hi all,

Here is my problem. I have an M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 soundcard that goes to my amp (Yamaha R-S300) with stereo cables (red/white). This works great for music but when i watch a movie (mkv, dts 5.1) Voices are very low volume and music or action sequence are very loud. I can't seem to find a way around this. I use Lav Audio decoder codec.

Thanks for reading and I hope someone can Help me

Sarlan

Make sure the speaker selection in Windows sound control panel is set to stereo (not 5.1 etc) - then everything should get mixed down to stereo.

Otherwise tell us more about your setup e.g. which audio renderer you have selected in MP etc.

Wow thanks for the quick reply !

I've selected 2 channel 24bits / 96 Khz audio in the Sound properties in Windows (seven 64bits)

I've selected the same output in MePo (it's called Line 1/2 Delta Audiophile M-Audio)

The Codec in Mediaportal configuration are as follow :

MPEG-2 Video decoder : MPC-MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)
H.264 Video decoder : Ffdshow DXVA Video Decoder
MPEG / AC3 audio decoder : LAV Audio Decoder
AAC audio decoder : LAV Audio Decoder
Audio Render : Line 1/2 (M-Audio Delta Audiophile)

Is there a way to have some sort of control over the dowmix from 5.1 to Stereo ?

    thanks again :)

Not in the Windows control panel, AFAIK. If there is nothing in your sound card drivers etc the other option is to use FFDShow audio decoder and use it's 'mixer' to do the downmixing (which what I do on my system - I run a 'quad' speaker setup (FL/FR/RL/RR) so I have to do both upmixing and downmixing :)).
