Stop, Play, Pause buttons don't work (1 Viewer)

Can someone explain why the remote's stop, play, and pause buttons don't work with Media Portal?
What is the fix?
Is there an extension?
Should this be a bug?

These buttons work in Windows 7 Media Center. Surprised the most important buttons in a HTPC don't work in Media Portal.

Um, so are you talking about a MC remote? Could you specify the model?

My remote says "Vista MCE Remote Control", which is why I thought I had a "Microsoft MCE" remote in MP Configuration. I checked Windows Device Manager, and it actually says I have a "HID Compliant Mouse". Changed MP Configuration to "General HID". Buttons work!

Did you ever find a solution to this problem???

This has happened to me a number of times. The only fix I know is to uninstall MP completely and reinstall. Of course this ruins any database that you may have, but it fixes the problem.
