Hi,
My system works really well after a reboot, everything works just fine. I put the system to Hibernate and that works fine also. Now depending on how long the system has been hibernated, one of two things happens:
1. If i start the PC after a minute or so, MP works just fine and I can use it as before.
2. If I wait over night or as just now, 5,5 hours, I cannot start TV, the GUI just freezes. Have to taskmanager-it down. Then two (2) instances of the Watchdogs starts collecting information.

No EPG-grabbing from the air.

This is getting real annoying as I hibernate the system when not using it, not to talk about how my wife thinks of it. :)

The log from 06_55 was from when the system was asleep over night.

Please let me know if you need more information.

I made some more tests with hibernate and everything worked after 30 minutes and also a second time after 40 minutes.
I will let the system be asleep for a longer time to see if there is a "magic" number between 40 minutes and 5,5h that causes the failure.

One little thing, MP does not crash, it just stops when entering full screen TV with just a blue background. In Task manager it says Not responding so I close it. I will post a new log where I wait longer before I close it.

This time I left MP at the blue screen while entering live TV. MP hanged at 17:27:20.

What can be the difference between hibernating for 40 minutes and a couple of hours?? Any clues?

best regards

Maybe you can try enable the "reinit tv service" or someting in the tv server configuration (under plugin/powerscheduer/...)

This option is for tv cards/drivers that can't handle standby.

I have configured all of thees options for service, tuners and restarting/waiting before starting MP.

This morning after starting the HTPC:
1. I closed MP Client and started TV Server Cfg.
2. Under Manual Control, no cards came up and the cfg-program stopped responding trying to do anything.
3. Went under services and restarted TV Service.
4. Started TV-Server cfg, Manual Control -> Now I could timeshift and it seems to work.

Why do I have to restart service? The Initialize service in power scheduler does not seem to work the same way. Perhaps it does not restart the service but doing something else when it initializes?!?

Update:
The last time the failure occured was after a hibernate for 1h 47 minutes. In the log it states that TV Service was init by Power sheduler but what does that mean? There is nothing in the win eventlog that states that the service was restarted.

i think i have the same problem.... right after upgrading from 1.1. to latest 1.1.1 release i started to get the following errors in error log:

    Code:
2010-10-07 14:58:05.019021 [PowerEventThread(8)]: dvb: could not get IBDA_Topology from tuner

this error seems to occur mainly afer resuming from standby, a restart of the tvservice fixes the problem

I think I have pinpointed the cause of this problem! My system was configured for DHCP and the lease was 1h. When the system was asleep for more than one hour and started up, it got a new IP-address from the DHCP-server. This last time I configured a static IP-address for the system and now after a 3 hour sleep, it woke up as it should!!

Exactly what stopped working am I not sure of, but the connection between TVService and MySQL could be the cause. Now my system is in use so I cannot test anymore at the moment. I will post back tomorrow with updated information.

The static IP fixed my problem so this issue can be marked as "No bug".
