Situation : I have a home server with 2 tvcards (listed above) and i installed mediaportal tvserver on it, firstly it didnt work so back to these support forums to solve the "hang" problem; solution was to restart tvservice and yes that worked fine. On my client pc i installed media portal with only tvclient, no tv server. and on a virtual machine i have the database server running (because i allready had that server running anyway) so first time when i started media portal on the client the software frooze and nothing worked, so restart of tvservice and yes! it was working. Speed of zapping between channels was nice, not too long. Because i wanted to add another drive to the system, i had to boot the homeserver from another disk to move the data off the disk as homeserver formats new disks. so after 3 hours of copying i booted again from the homeserver disk with the new disk attached and first nothing worked anymore till i found out the tvservice did not start :( But was late so next day i started the tv service and connected again with the client, now i got unable to start time shifting and unable to create graph error messages, so again back to the forums and found out it had to do with the visual c runtimes for 2005 and 2008, now why did it not gave these errormessages the day before?? why did it stop working great? mediaportal is the only way to use dvb-c in the netherlands that i am aware of, mediacenter which i love does not work with terratec dvb-c cards, it works great with the floppydtv. So again, i know homeserver is not supported but i just want to make clear that everything was working fine so what does the software do that it stops working after a reboot or add of a drive? No special patches or so where installed.. anyway.. thanks for the nice product. regards Jayel [/QUOTE]
