I've been trying to add my dvd collection to mediaportal using config->movie->database->editor, and i've noticed some strange behaviour when it comes to adding in sequels. Basically, when I add the sequel for some movies in my collection, it replaces the original movie with the sequel!

Steps to reproduce:
- In movie editor, click on "new" under title, and enter "pirates of the caribbean" as the title. hit "lookup", and pick "pirates of the caribbean - curse of the black pearl". mp correctly downloads all movie info and adds it to the database. Hit save.
- Select "new" again, and enter "pirates of the caribbean", hit lookup, and this time select the sequel - "pirates of the caribbean - dead mans chest". Mp goes through the process of downloading the info, but replaces the entry for the first movie (curse of the blah blah) with the newly downloaded info - so you only end up with the sequel in the database.

I've noticed the same behaviour when trying to add wayne's world & wayne's world 2, also with indiana jones and the last crusade and indiana jones and the temple of doom (but raiders works..), and xmen and x2, but strangely not with kill bill & kill bill vol 2 (which work correctly )

can supply more info if needed - i've looked through the logs but there doesn't appear to be anything relevant.

I confirm this behavior, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a bug. You need to enter a different name on the sequel before hitting lookup. Try "pirates of the caribbean dead chest" or something. It will still find the movie so you can select it, but it wont replace the first one. The name used when hitting lookup seems to look through the movies you already have to determine if you want to replace or create new. I guess you could call it a bug, but I have successfully added many sequels manually using this workaround, so I don't think it's such a big deal.

yeah - i just worked that out last night :p. what's actually happening is that when you hit new and enter a name, that name is being used as the filename (look in the files tab). so when i was typing pirates and hitting lookup, it was replacing the existing entry with a filename of pirates with the new one.

so yeah, it's not really a bug i guess! maybe an admin wants to close this thread?
