stream DVD to mp client (1 Viewer)

Hi!

Is it possible to watch a DVD playing on tvserver from the mp client over the network? I've tried playing a DVD on the tvserver using mediaportal on the server, but can't view that video over the net using mp-client.

what about sharing the dvd drive then access share from client in my videos

Thanks for the reply. What I am looking for is having the tvserver be able to stream *any* audio/video that is playing on the tvserver machine. The mediaportal client installed on the local computer (same machine tvserver is on) as well as all other network clients would be able to see the stream.

No supported. TVE3 can be only used for tv.

since its called TV-Server and not Media Server

You already have the network there, so just share the mediafiles....

well some ppl will always find something to get upset

on the other hand we would like to have an Media Server too. (prefered would be to extend the TV-Server to that.)

and here come the BUT

1. thats not something you can do over night
2. TV-Server is still not working as it should. THAT has to be done first!
3. we will need more developers, especialy some which know upnp which would be nice to have in the media server

Streaming is easy

as soon as you copy the video_ts and audio_ts folder onto a harddisk and share it ..

that should be possible very easy with all windows version ... MP will open it under movies and stream it from the file share directly ..

creating an ISO image of an DVD is a bad choice .. because even MP has integrated Deamon Support.. it takes much longer to mount the drive image..
