Hello,
I'm using Mediaportal for a couple of weeks now, and it's a great program.
My tv is an old Philips Widescreen 100hz , 32PW8506
The only important problem for the moment, is that when I play a dvd,
the stretch mode doesn't work.
I thought that when choosing the stretch mode, the video would stretch to fill the screen.
But it does nothing.
I also have tried the other options, but I believe the stretch mode
is the only way to get rid of the black bars.
When I play the dvd in a normal dvd player, and set my tv to automatic mode,
the video will stretch to fill the screen.
That is what I would like for Mediaportal to do.
My resolution is 800x600 at the moment, and I've set my tv to 16:9 mode
and then in Mediaportal I calibrated the screen.
I also tried automatic mode and widescreen, but no luck.
When playing xvid, the video fills the whole screen, so that's great.
Some dvd's fill the whole screen, when I look at the properties in Powerdvd,
these dvd's have aspect ratio 4:3.
I also tried different video codecs, like ffdshow and set some resize settings, but no effect.
My questions are :
1) In which mode must I set my tv in before calibrating the screen ?
( automatic, 16:9, widescreen,.... )
2) Probably the resolution is the problem,
so which resolution should windows be in ?
( 800x600, 1024x768,.... )
3) I've read about Powerstrip, and I tried powerstrip on my normal pc to try if it makes a difference,
i tried 1024x576 and 960x540, but still those black bars and wouldn't stretch when choosing stretch mode,
Will this be any different when I try it on my HTPC ?
I hope that someone can help me with this.
Thanks in advance,
Soxbrother
