Stuttering TV in fullscreen (1 Viewer)

Hi,

just installed MediaPortal a couple of days ago and everything works fine except for that TV is stuttering when in fullscreen for some channels (For those from Sweden, it's SVT1, SVT2 and TV4). I have tried alot of different codecs, but no go. Tried downgrading Nvidia driver to a older version but no success. (No HD channels is used)

Anyone have any ideas to get this problem solved?

EDIT: Fullscreen TV works fine in Technotrends own software.

Have you tried to set gfx-card to 50Hz (alt. 75Hz/100Hz)?

I have tried with 50hz too, and no go there either (50 and 60Hz is the only alternatives I have).

It seems that the channels that are having problems send there sound in AC3, could that somehow be the problem? I have also noticed that they stutter in preview mode too. (And the processor is only used to 40%)

I will try to change skin, but I doubt it will solve the problem. I have checked the logs, but cannot find anything strange in particular...

I have had picture stuttering for quite some time but only on Nvidia based machines. I had a look at the codecs again this morning, swithed to MPV and the stuttering now appears to have gone (1 hour now and no stuttering). If I try my other codecs again (Nvidia Purevideo, ffdshow, Cyberlink) the stuttering comes back, so it its worth trying MPV to see if this fixes the problem.

This could be down to hardware acceleration, try disabling that in config for the relevant decoder, see if that improves things.

Make sure that you have installed the BDA/DVB Hotfix (and all other required updates).

I had the same problem with a similar setup, and the above patch seemed to reduce the stuttering significantly.

Disable the hardware acceleration for Cyberlink codec did also remove the stuttering. Are there any known issues with Nvidia and DXVA?

I changed to EVR as renderer on xp (.net3.0\3.5 installed with M$ updates) this breaks hardware acceleration, but using MP was a dream, everything instant and picture quality on video playback superb, also in nvidia config changed the colour space to be controlled by nvidia at 0-255, so blacks were black

This route is only feasible if your system will allow it.

I'm still on XP SP3 on all my machines, but perhaps I should give EVR a go after all... The reason I haven't tried is just the fact that you loose hardware acceleration. I have never got VMR9 + DXVA + NVIDIA to run perfect, I have got it pretty good, but not perfect.

I suppose as i have not really had major stutter\video problems, just never really been bothered about fine tuning, know fullscreen tv\video plays with such low cpu use (3-5%), whether its going via cyberlinks codecs or ffdshow, i can transcode and run MP at the same time
