Complete Newbie needing help please. Mediaportal doesn't seem to have a separate srt file. I recorded a list of tv programmes for mum and daughter to watch on the tablet if we have a rainy day while out in the caravan. My wife needs subtitles as she is hearing impaired. VLC works well on the tablet but as mediaportal seems to record subs within the video file I can't get it displayed on the tablet (or PC either).

Uhm, as you say it: mepo records the subtitles within the video file since it comes with the broadcast signal.
Therefore you should get the subtitle as well if it was in the original stream - unless I'm very wrong or misunderstand you...
It's when the played video file does not have subs and you add a srt file that you can switch it on/off and depending on the program you use to display that video, you have the possibility to use that srt file.
