SUBTITLES for UK DVB-T (1 Viewer)

Hi, I know this is an old issue, but for me and many many others I'm sure it is still a massive hole in MediaPortal. SUBTITLES for UK DVB-T. Was watching Lord Of The Rings on DVB-T the other night and the wife was finding it hard to understand the dialogue, can be tricky, so asked if I could turn on the subtitles, hhhmmmm. I eventually achived this by pressing record then closing MP and opening up the ever increasing .ts recording up in VLC Media player, make it full screen and then turn on the subtitles in VLC. This worked well but is a right pain in the a**e. Sureley if VLC Media player can do this then some clever sole can script this into MediaPortal. Please?

Hi

I believed that UK DVB-T subtitles were carried in the MHEG-5 stream. An MHEG-5 plugin has been under development for some time, see the following thread:

Reading the thread I think that the huge complexity of the plugin and the demands on spare time to develop it may mean it will be a while longer.

Saying that, if the DVB subtitle filter works OK maybe I was wrong and MHEG-5 just has the interactive and teletext side of DVB-T. Good news for those wanting subtitles.
