Subtitles resynching on the fly not possible? (1 Viewer)

I've searched for a long time and tried several alternative ways but... does Media Portal really have so many problems with subtitles support? I see people complaining about not being able to activate subs, people not managing to get subs in matroska files and, my personal pet peeve, I can't find any way to manually add or remove delay from external subtitles that might be out of synch (plus it seems to lack the ability to load an external subtitle file from a browsing window, as XBMC has allowed for a very long time, and MPC too).

Media Portal seems almost perfect for my needs. but subtitles are really important for me. I hope somebody will be able to shed some light.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone knows? If I missed something obvious in the manual, please excuse me. I've asked in the past without being able to get a clear answer either... :(

Ok, I'm really sorry...

... really no one is able to answer this? Even a simple no (as much as it'd surprise me) would be enough.

I just want to be sure that I understand things correctly.

Thanks in advance to any kind soul.

adjusting the "delay" of subtitles is not suported.
i know that subtiles work when playing a dvd.

but no clue about mkv's and LiveTV.

I hope this feature will be supported very soon, I think it is very important...
I use GOM player for watching videos now, which have a very good sub sync function that shouldn't be too hard to implement...

I've made a program to adjust the delay of subtitles. I use ffdshow, and the program controls the delay using window messages.

I then mapped two buttons on my remote starting the program with two different arguments (inc & dec).

I'm planning on doing some more work on the program before I release it on this forum, but there isn't just anough hours in a day.

I've got some nice features planned out, but it might take a while.

Btw: Does anyone know if it's possible the get ffdshow to return current settings using f.ex window messages (or any other way)? I want it to return the current setting of subtitle delay.

Any development on this? It's the only thing keeping me from switching to Media Portal, basically... :(

Sorry, but I haven't been working on this lately. I'm very busy with other thing at the moment and I won't have any time to work on this before the summer.

Ok, more broadly speaking I still can't face the fact that MediaPortal doesn't support this functionality out of the box.

Zoom Player does, Kmplayer does, VNC does, mplayer does, MPC does... why not MediaPortal? :(
